Two football players are among the three people charged with rape in
an alleged sexual assault in a dormitory at the University of North
Alabama.
Officials say linebacker Eddrick Harris of
Courtland and defensive lineman Deandre Alexander Harrison of Lithonia,
Ga., both lived in the dorm where the alleged assault happened over the
weekend.
A local paper (http://bit.ly/YWKrIn ) reports both have been suspended from the team and face potential disciplinary action from the university.
The third suspect, D'Anthony Juqua Byrd of Muscle Shoals, is not a student at North Alabama.
A defense attorney didn't immediately return messages.
Police say a woman told officers she was assaulted after attending a party in a dorm room.
Friends took the woman to a hospital, and authorities were notified early Sunday.
