One person died and two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 459 North in Hoover Friday afternoon.

The fatal crash involving a Nissan pick-up truck and a car happened around 4 p.m. near the Highway 31 exit and just before the Interstate 65 exchange.

The driver of the car was transported to UAB Hospital where the victim was pronounced deceased.

The two occupants in the truck were taken by ambulance to St. Vincent's Hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Hoover Police have since reopened all lanes of traffic.

    A federal judge is delaying his decision on an Alabama law that could close some abortion clinics.
