The mission of the Max Planck Florida Institute is to study the brain and discover how it works. The results of such a monumental endeavor could lead to cures for such devastating diseases as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, as well as autism and other disorders. While a number of charitable organizations exist to support patients and families of patients with those conditions, and their caregivers, the Max Planck Florida Institute focuses on high-level research in a state-of-the-art building.
According to an Enterprise Florida study, as many as 1,800 jobs will be sparked by the Max Planck Florida Institute, both directly and indirectly, during the next two decades. Direct jobs at the facility include scientific, public relations / development and administrative positions. Indirect jobs result from the opening of so-called spinoff business that serve the needs of the facility and its team of workers.
