Samantha Russell spent half of her childhood in Birmingham and the other half in Enid, Oklahoma, Growing up dancing and spending lots of time on stage, Samantha always had dreams of being in front of the camera.
After earning her degree in Broadcast Journalism and Sports Media from Oklahoma State University, she took her first job working behind the scenes as an Associate Producer for the morning newscast at KWTV in Oklahoma City. After learning the ropes of producing, Samantha decided it was time to head back to sweet home Alabama where she began her first job at ABC 33/40 as the Producer for Good Morning Alabama. Although she enjoys news, Samantha also wanted to explore her creative side. In May of 2012, she became the Producer for Talk of Alabama, ABC 33/40's talk and entertainment show.
Samantha recently re-joined the Good Morning Alabama team as the new Traffic Reporter while continuing to produce TOA.
During her free time, Samantha enjoys spending time with her family, friends and pug, Pixie. She also enjoys traveling and staying active in the community.
