The victim of a homicide at the Rodeway Inn & Suites in Homewood has been identified as a Birmingham teenager.

Jvonte Hines, 17, of Forestdale, was shot and killed early Sunday morning at the hotel, the Homewood Police Department confirms. Rescue workers were called to the location around 3:30 a.m. and arrived to find Hines suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene a short time later.

Police took several witnesses into custody for questioning, but no suspects have been arrested in connection to the homicide as of yet.
