In a release from the Gardendale Police Department:
Terry Greer, the former pastor of Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, has been released from UAB Hospital. He was immediately transported to the Jefferson County Jail and is charged with Murder and Attempted murder.
Greer had been in the hospital receiving treatment for wounds suffered in the January 2013 incident where he allegedly killed his wife and attempted to kill his daughter. Greer apparently attempted to take his own life by stabbing himself several times.
Greer's wife, Lisa, died January 11, 2013, one day after the attacks.
Terry Greer is being held without bond.
Greer remains a United Methodist pastor, but he was removed as minister at Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church.
