National Weather Service in Birmingham issues winter weather advisory

LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING... .SNOW SHOWERS WILL SPREAD SOUTHWARD TONIGHT ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA.

SEVERAL ROUNDS OF MODERATE SNOW SHOWERS COULD RESULT IN MULTIPLE PERIODS OF BRIEF ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE HALF INCH ON GRASSY AND ELEVATED SURFACES. LOCALIZED SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE INCH ARE POSSIBLE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTHEAST CENTRAL ALABAMA.

ANY SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN MELTING AS PRECIPITATION BECOMES LIGHTER...IN BETWEEN HEAVIER SNOW SHOWERS. ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST SATURDAY. SNOW SHOWERS WILL BEGIN AS EARLY AS 6 PM THIS EVENING AND LAST THROUGH 12 PM ON SATURDAY.
