The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has released the identity of another victim killed in a large house fire in the Five Points area in Birmingham's Southside last week.
Thomas Wesley Martin, 44, of Birmingham is the second of the three victims to be identified. Investigators revealed the first victim's name, Jeffrey Lane Petty, 53, on Monday, Feb. 25. The identity of the third victim has yet to be released.
All three men, believed to be homeless, were found deceased in a vacant house on 20th Street South next to UAB's 1917 Clinic building. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to the three alarm blaze around 8 p.m. on Feb. 18, but did not discover the bodies until the following day during a search through the charred debris.
