JEFFERSON COUNTY - AL -
Jefferson County residents could see a sewer rate hike as soon as today.
Most people will see an increase of about $2.00 a month. The plant for the new rates was adopted in November 2012. People are charged based on the amount of water they use, that goes into the sewer system.
While many people are unhappy about higher bills, the county's sewer creditors want rates to go even higher.
This is the first increase since 2008.
