Body found near Miles College

A body found at 504 56^th street in Birmingham is being investigated as a homicide by the Fairfield Police Department.

Chief Leon Davis says the body was discovered at 9:15 Thursday morning in the backyard of a home at 504 56^th street. The scene is only two blocks from Miles College.

Although the man has not been identified Fairfield Police confirmed the victim died from an apparent gunshot wound.
