Suspected "cop killer" gets change of venue

The man accused of killing a police officer will have his case heard out of town.

Joshua Eugene Russell is charged in the August 2011 shooting death of Anniston police officer Justin Sollohub. The 27-year old was killed during a foot chase.

A Calhoun County judge granted a change of venue to the suspect in the case after a Birmingham Southern survey. It revealed that 70 percent of Calhoun County residents had knowledge of the case from news coverage.
