A former state trooper has pleaded guilty to violating state ethics laws by using a state credit card to buy gas for personal use.
Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange says 50-year-old Terry Stallworth, of Mobile, appeared Wednesday in Mobile County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to two years of probation and is ordered to pay about $1,500 in court costs, fines and restitution.
Authorities say Stallworth bought more than $500 worth of gas for his personal vehicle with a state credit card on his days off.
Another ex-trooper, Jonathon Dees, pleaded guilty in Tuscaloosa County to similar charges in November of 2012. A third former trooper, Kenneth Grissett, was indicted in February of 2012 and is expected to go to trial in Tuscaloosa County.
