Governor Bentley to Recognize 20 New Torchbearer Schools in Alabama

MONTGOMERY - AL -

Governor Robert Bentley on Tuesday will join State Department of Education Superintendent Dr. Tommy Bice to recognize the 2013-2014 Torchbearer schools in Alabama. Torchbearer schools are high-poverty public schools that have overcome the odds to become high-performing schools. Twenty schools have been selected for 2013-2014.

Tuesday's award ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Capital City Club in Montgomery.
