Winfield, AL -
In an effort to create
jobs and help commerce along I-22, Governor Robert Bentley has awarded a
Community Development Block Grant to the city of Winfield.
The grant will help with the development of a
commercial complex for three businesses employing 33 people. The complex will
be home to Winfield Neurology and Family Medicine, Huatulco Mexican Restaurant
and Tabs Party Rentals.
This the second CDBG Bentley has awarded to a
Marion County municipality in the last two weeks: He recently awarded a
$200,000 grant to the town of Brilliant to help bring 20 new jobs to a
manufacturing plant. In November, Bentley also supported another development
along I-22 with the award of $300,000 to the city of Jasper to assist in the
construction of a commercial business complex adjacent to the interstate that
would employ 80 people.
