Cape Canaveral, FL -
NASA says there is nothing
to worry about when the DA14 asteroid does a flyby of the earth Friday. The 150 foot asteroid will cruise by the
earth around 1:24 PM CT Friday at a distance of approximately 17,150 miles. It will be difficult for people in the United
States to see as the trajectory shows it will fly over the Indian Ocean near
Sumatra. Even if sky watchers in that
area are able, the most they will see is pinpoint of light as the asteroid zips
by at 17,400 mph.
