BIRMINGHAM - AL -

In a bit of irony, a new campaign to turn off technology was launched online.

The Tech Timeout campaign urges people to turn off TVs, smart phones, and computers for just an hour a day, and spend time with their families.  The idea is that technology can pull people away from face-to-face interaction, and turning things off can bring people back together.

Tech Timeout only asks people to make the change for one week.
