The Facebook founder was the second-biggest charitable donor in the US last year, behind Warren Buffett.
That's according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy's annual list.
Zuckerberg, along with wife Priscilla Chan, gave roughly half a billion dollars to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
The organization issues grants for a host of causes in the San Francisco area.
Zuckerberg made his first big philanthropy splash in 2010, when he pledged 100-million dollars to public schools in Newark, New Jersey.
