CULLMAN COUNTY - AL -
One of the longest serving officials in Cullman County has left the Democratic Party and joined the Republican Party. Presiding District Judge, Kim Chaney, announced his switch at a meeting of the Cullman COunty Republican Party. Chaney had been a Democrat since his election in 1992, but said the Republican Party better represents his core values. Members of the county party gave him a standing ovation Saturday. The switch by the judge leaves Cullman County School Board member, Randy Hasenbein, as the only Democrat holding a county office.
