CULLMAN COUNTY - AL -

One of the longest serving officials in Cullman County has left the Democratic Party and joined the Republican Party.  Presiding District Judge, Kim Chaney, announced his switch at a meeting of the Cullman COunty Republican Party.  Chaney had been a Democrat since his election in 1992, but said the Republican Party better represents his core values.  Members of the county party gave him a standing ovation Saturday.  The switch by the judge leaves Cullman County School Board member, Randy Hasenbein, as the only Democrat holding a county office.
