JEFFERSON COUNTY - AL -

Friends and family gathered Saturday afternoon to remember the life of 20-year-old Eric Corley. A deputy from the Jefferson County Sheriff's office blocked the road where the accident happened for one hour as people paid their respects.

Corley and four other people were involved in a one-car accident in the 6700 block of Trussville-Clay Road on Friday, January 25th. He died from injuries sustained from the wreck on February 6th. Police say the 2002 Ford Escape that the group was traveling in ran off the road and struck a rock in a ditch. The accident happened just one day before Corley's 21st birthday.

16-year old James David Shirley also died following the crash due to injuries. His service was last week.
