Members
of an Amish community in Burgholz, Ohio went to court in Cleveland Friday to
hear the fate of the man some say is a monster.
A federal
jury convicted Sam Mullet and 15 of his followers on kidnapping and conspiracy
charges, as well as hate crimes.
It all
started when rival bishops accused him of child abuse. In retaliation, Mullet cut the beards and hair of his enemies, which is a grave insult for the
Amish.
The
prosecution in the case is pushing for Mullet to be sentenced to life behind
bars.
His followers are facing several years in prison.
