The Etowah County Sheriff's Office says an inmate kitchen worker escaped the Etowah County Detention Center Friday morning.

ABC 33/40 has received several photos of the cockfighting ring that was busted by the Jefferson County's Sheriff's Office on Saturday, February 2.

Six people were arrested at a home located at the 200 Block of Tom Salter Road after deputies arrived to discover two roosters fighting in a make-shift pen near the house. There were reportedly 20 people at the scene when deputies showed up, most of which fled into some nearby woods.

Five of the six arrested have since been released from jail after posting bond while one man remains in custody on an outstanding warrant.

One photo shows the metal spurs placed on one rooster believed to be used in cockfighting.
