JEFFERSON COUNTY - AL -
Six people have been charged with cock fighting after Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies were called to investigate a report of fighting at a house on the 200 block of Tom Salter Road.
Deputies found about 20 people in a clearing gathered around a pen not far from the house where two roosters were fighting. The roosters had metal spurs on their feet. When they saw the deputies, the group ran into the woods.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Investigators say Randy Lam, James Alexander, Bobby McDow, Nathan Bearden, and Robert Short have all posted bond and been released. A warrant remains outstanding for David Wayne Smith.
