Testimony from sewer creditors ended Friday in federal bankruptcy court. Jefferson County will now move forward to present its case in the coming weeks.

Creditors want the automatic stay lifted. It is currently preventing them from taking further action against the county and asking for higher sewer rates.

In March, Jefferson County sewer bills will increase on average by a few dollars, but sewer creditors argue the raise isn't enough to pay off the sewer debt.

Creditors also want former sewer receiver John Young reinstated. He testified Friday.

A date to resume trial has not been set.
