Several law enforcement agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation continue a standoff that began Tuesday afternoon with the man suspected of shooting and killing a school bus driver in Dale County, Ala. then kidnapping a young boy, taking him to an underground bunker.
Retired truck driver Jimmy Lee Dykes, 65, has held a young hostage for over 96 hours now in a bunker that is reported to be 15 feet wide, 15 feet in length and 12 feet in depth.
The boy was abducted from a school bus after Dykes reportedly shot and killed 66-year-old driver Charles Albert Poland Jr. for refusing to adhere to his demands to take children from the bus.
ABC 33/40 has a crew in Midland City, and we will continue to follow this dangerous situation, providing updates as information is made available.
