CULLMAN COUNTY - AL -

A storm line that proved deadly in Tennessee left behind a trail of damage across western Cullman County and part of Winston County.

"I thought we were fixing to get blown away. I've never experienced anything like it," Shelane Berley recalls hearing the winds just before the roof of his home near Sardis disappeared.

"All you could hear was the metal being blown off. It was loud an quick," says Berley.

A few miles to the west in Addison. A hangar at the Addison Municipal Airport was  demolished.

Winds flipped an airplane and destroyed three others. Gordon Grooms, who has managed the airport for five years describes the devastation.

"It's kind of disheartening, you work so hard to do things and get things going and nature comes along and takes it away from you," says Grooms.

Crews from Cullman Electric Cooperative spent the day working to restore power to more than 200 customers.

For Grooms, there's only one option. "I'm pretty sure we'll just start all over," he says. "We'll just keep on going,"

Cullman County EMA reports no injuries from Wednesday's morning storms.
