FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --  Frankie Sullivan scored 26 points behind five second-half three-pointers, and was just one rebound shy of a double-double with nine, but Auburn dropped their first SEC contest to Arkansas in double overtime, 88-80.

The Razorbacks were led by forward Marshawn Powell and his double-double performance against the Tigers, finishing with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Powell scored 21 of his points in the second half and two overtimes, coming five points short of equaling his highest point-total for a game this season. He dropped 33 on Oklahoma on Dec. 4 in a Arkansas 81-78 win.

Auburn (8-8) outrebounded Arkansas (11-5) in the game, 39-34, but Tony Barbee watched his Tigers commit 18 turnovers in the loss, thanks in large part to Mike Anderson's high-pressure defense. The Hogs turned the ball over only eight times as they moved to 2-1 in league play.

Auburn continued their lights-out shooting from behind the arch, hitting 11 of 25 in the game.

Senior Rob Chubb recorded a double-double in the defeat, grabbing 11 rebounds to go along with his 12 points.

Auburn will now turn their attention to the defending national champion Kentucky Wildcats. John Calipari's revamped squad will travel to take on the Tigers on Saturday at Auburn Arena, where a sold out crowd is expected in attendance. New head football coach Gus Malzahn will address the fans at halftime of the game.

Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. and will be televised by ESPNU.
