MIDFIELD-AL -

According to family members, a 6-year-old Midfield boy has died from an early-morning house fire that critically injured his mother. The fire began shortly before 4 am Friday on the 600 block of 11th Avenue.

Family members identified the 6 year old as Cameron Hall and his mother as Erica Hall.

Witnesses said four family members were at home, and the father and his 4-year-old son escaped through a window.

The mother is in intensive care at UAB Hospital.

Neighbors tell ABC 33/40 that power was out at the residence, and a candle started the blaze.

The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire.
