Okmulgee Store Clerk Recovering After Being Shot 7 Times

    The Etowah County Sheriff's Office says an inmate kitchen worker escaped the Etowah County Detention Center Friday morning. 

An Okmulgee convenience store clerk injured in a violent robbery this week is heading home.

Jacob Rogers, 21, was shot seven times in the incident early Wednesday morning. Investigators said four suspects came in and held up the Kum & Go Store near 4th and Kern in Okmulgee.

A source close to Jacob's family told KTUL.com that Rogers was released from the hospital Thursday afternoon.

Four underaged teens have been arrested and accused in the crime.  Jerry Thompson , 17, Jeffery Edwards, 17, Johnnie Ellis, 17, and an un-named 14-year-old suspects were taken into custody Wednesday.

According to court records, no charges have been filed yet.
