Officer involved shooting in Fairfield; One in custody

FAIRFIELD - AL -

Police are on the scene of a officer-involved shooting in Fairfield.

A Fairfield Police officer fired shots at a suspect after having a gun pointed at them at the 6700 Block of Terrace Court and Avenue D Wednesday.

It is unknown at this time if anyone has been shot, but a suspect has been taken into custody. Police are still investigating the incident.

We have a crew headed to the scene and we will provide updates as information becomes available.

A shooting occurred in the same area on Monday night when a 13-year-old teenager was shot while watching the BCS National Championship game.

Police have yet to determine if the two incidents are related.
