Boy accidentally shoots and kills 12 year old cousin

A boy accidentally shot and killed his 12 year old cousin with a shotgun Tuesday in Pleasant Valley in Calhoun County on Macon Johnson Drive. Calhoun County Chief Deputy Matthew Wade says two boys were outdoors playing on a trampoline when one of them told his relative he received a shotgun for Christmas. The boy went indoors to retrieve the gun and showed it to his cousin. Wade says the boy pretended to shoot his cousin not realizing a live round was inside the shotgun. The gun discharged killing the 12 year old.

No charges will be filed.
