"More than 65 hungry
children can now be fed for a school year by our Secret Meals program." said Alabama
Credit Union President Steve Swofford.
In a pre-BCS National
Championship game challenge to see which university's credit union could
generate the most credit card applications, Alabama Credit Union bested Notre
Dame Federal Credit Union by a final score of 355 to 331. As a result, ACU's
Secret Meals for Hungry Children program will receive the $10,000 put up by the
two credit unions as the reward for winning the competition.
"When it was proposed to
us by their CEO, our staff immediately became energized to win, not only to
prove a point, but to help support Secret Meals for Hungry Children."
Alabama Credit Union is
a statewide credit union based in Tuscaloosa.
