McCalla man released on bond after shooting incident

    The Etowah County Sheriff's Office says an inmate kitchen worker escaped the Etowah County Detention Center Friday morning. 

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office confirms Adam Blake Dodson, 33, of McCalla, has posted a $50,000 bond to get out of jail after being charged with attempted murder.

According to a press release, Dodson was booked into the Shelby County jail on January 7, 2013, after a shooting in the Cahaba River area, in the Pea Ridge community. The shooting happened just after 9 p.m. January 6, 2013. An unidentified male was taken to the hospital after being shot. The man is expected to survive his injuries.

The suspect in the case, Dodson, posted bail and was released on January 8, 2013.
