Businesses prepare for sports fans

Posted: Updated:

Alabama and Notre Dame face off in Miami Monday for the national championship and fans aren't the only ones counting down. Many businesses are already gearing up to make sure customers have a great time during the game.

Many people hit the stores Sunday to buy brand new flat screens. Best Buy in Hoover even sold an 80 inch.. and stores themselves, bars and restaurants are also getting ready for crowds.

"All hands on deck." The team at Buffalo Wild Wings in Hoover is ready to tackle a huge crowd Monday night. "We've doubled our truck order. We basically got a full truck order for one day. We're ready to go, same with beer. We're going to have stuff ready for our customers." Manager, Jarod Edwards, expects the restaurant will serve thousands of wings to customers as they watch the national championship game between Alabama and Notre Dame. "We never run out of wings and I don't expect for us to run out of wings tomorrow."

Even Dreamland Bar B Que is a step ahead of the game, ordering extra ribs, bake beans and ingredients to make its special banana pudding. Manager, Kenneth Tate, says more than 40 people have already pre-ordered food... like the tailgate special which typically feeds around 8 people. "To go will be pretty busy. I would recommend if anyone is considering take out for the ball game, that they start early. Around 3 or 4 tomorrow, it's going to be packed, The take out is going to be packed."

But Tate believes there will be plenty of seats to enjoy some ribs while taking in all the action. "The game will be on every television."
