Alabama defensive lineman Quinton Dial has been criticized by many in the media for his crushing hit on Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray in the SEC Championship game last month.

Dial decleated Murray during an interception return by Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Critics have said that Dial's block was a dangerous cheap shot, and that the senior from Clay-Chalkville High School should have been suspended for his final collegiate game in the BCS National Championship.

Dial, who will not face suspension and is eligible to play in Monday night's title game, couldn't disagree more, even saying Murray is partially to blame for the brutality of the hit.

"It really doesn't matter what everyone else is saying, because they don't play football. I do." Dial said during BCS media day at Sun Life Stadium in Miami on Saturday."It was a clean hit. [Murray] should of had his head on a swivel."

The SEC declined to hand out any punishment following a review of the game film, although the league's director of officiating, Steve Shaw, did go on record saying there should have been a penalty on the play.

"After review, all subsequent action will be handled internally by the two institutions and the conference office is satisfied with their actions." the SEC said in a released statement on December 14.

According to an ESPN report, an Alabama official said Dial's situation has indeed been "handled internally."
