Birmingham Fire and Rescue worked to put out a fire late Tuesday night.
It happened at a home on 20th Avenue South just before 10:00 p.m. There is no official word on what caused the blaze, but investigators say it looks like it started in the attic above the kitchen in the home. A man and his elderly father were inside the house when the fire started and were able to escape, unharmed.
