Bessemer Police have made two arrests in a robbery case.  Raymond Thompson and Avery Jackson, both 18, were arrested and charged with first degree robbery.  The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve in the parking lot of West Town Plaza.  Police say a woman was loading package into the trunk of her car when one of the men approached her with a gun.  He demanded she give up her purse while pointing the gun at her waist.  The suspect then grabbed her purse as two other males drove up in a burgundy PT Cruiser.  He jumped into the back seat and fled southbound on 9th Avenue North.  The vehicle was later spotted and was followed into the parking lot of Motel 6.  All three suspects jumped out and fled.  The driver was caught after a short foot chase.  The two passengers were later apprehended out of a room at the motel.
