A
68-year-old man is behind bars after a shooting Sunday afternoon left one man
dead.
Birmingham
Police say officers responded to Birmingham Trade Towers, located at 2021 10th
Avenue South just before 3:00 p.m. Sunday to investigate a person shot. When
they arrived, police found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The
victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The suspect, Tyrone Edwards, 68, of
Birmingham, surrendered to police. The victim and Edwards had been involved in
an altercation just before the shooting.
The
victim's identity has not been released.
A murder warrant has been obtained against Edwards.
He is currently in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
