Birmingham apartment lobby fight escalates into fatal shooting

BIRMINGHAM - AL -

One man is in custody and another is dead after a fight inside a Birmingham apartment building escalated into a shooting.

Birmingham police say the victim and another man started fighting inside the lobby of the Birmingham Trades Towers in Five Points South around 3 p.m. Sunday. The man shot the male victim who was pronounced dead on the scene. The shooter immediately surrendered to police.

Police say the other tenants were never in danger.
