NYPD searching for 10-year-old boy, believed to be in Jefferson County

The New York City Police Department needs your help finding a 10-year-old boy, believed to be in or around Bessemer or Brighton.

Reginald Matthews, 10, was last seen at school Friday, December 21 at approximately 1:00p.m. in Queens, New York. Police say he may have taken a bus with his biological mother from New York City to get to Alabama. Matthews is in a foster care program in New York.

Matthews is described as being 5'1, 150 lbs., with brown eyes, black hair in cornrows, and a mole behind his right ear. He was last seen wearing a red polo shirt, blue jeans, neon green Adidas sneakers, a blue winter hat, and wears glasses that are black and green.

Anyone with information regarding Reginald Matthews' whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).     Students at Moody High School are mourning the loss of their classmate. 16-year-old Jonathan Harris, a sophomore died Monday night from injuries sustained in a weekend rollover accident on Roberts Mill Pond Road in Pell City.
