HOOVER - AL -

Two people are dead after being shot inside Martinis Fine Food Spirits & Ultra Lounge, now known as Martinis II, in Hoover just before midnight Friday, Hoover Police Captain Jim Coker confirmed.

The club is located at the 2100 block of Lorna Ridge Lane off of Lorna Road. Its building is next to the Carmike 10 Movie Theater, better known in Birmingham as the "$1.50 movie theater".

Coker said the investigation into the shooting will be ongoing. Details surrounding the incident are unclear at this time.

UPDATE

Hoover Police have identified two people shot and killed inside a Hoover night club Friday night.

Monterio Alonzo Peebles-Kellogg, 19, and LaKenya Chaniese Moton, 20, both from Birmingham, were shot while at Martinis Lounge. A third victim, a 20-year-old from Pinson, suffered non-life-threatening injuries

U.S. Marshals took the suspect into custody around 7:00 Saturday morning in Birmingham. The suspect has not yet been identified. Hoover Police Captain Jim Coker says police do not believe the shooting to be a random act.

It has been two and a half years since Hoover's last homicide.
