A 29-year-old Birmingham man has been arrested for making a terrorist threat towards Phillips Academy on Tuesday, the Birmingham Police Department reports.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Markey Humphrey in the Kingston area around noon Thursday on a Making a Terrorist Threat warrant.
Chief A.C. Roper stated, "We will not tolerate any threats made against
our students and schools. This is a sensitive time in our nation so we
have to take any threat seriously."
Investigators received a tip about the threat from an anonymous caller.
Humphrey is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
