MONTGOMERY - AL -
Governor Robert Bentley and other state leaders will remember the 26 lives lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. He will hold a special service Friday in their honor.
The service will be held at the Connecticut flag in the Circle of Flags at the Alabama State Capitol. It will begin at 9:30 a.m. and a bell will ring 26 times for each life lost in the fatal shooting one week ago.
The ringing of the bells was a request made by Connecticut's governor.
The governor is also encouraging all Alabamians to participate by observing a moment of silence at that time.
