Person struck by train in Birmingham loses an arm

UPDATE:  Birmingham police tells ABC 33/40 two men were trying to jump the tracks on Morris Avenue and 14th Street.  One person made it.  The other man's arm was severed off by the train.  He was transported to UAB hospital. 

Birmingham police and fire are investigating a person struck by a train at Morris Avenue and 14th Street North in Birmingham. 

Police responded to a call just after 5 p.m. today that a person had been struck by a train near the bridge on Morris Avenue.   The injuries of the person struck are unknown at this time.
