A 69-year-old Birmingham man was found dead inside his house. Felix McKinney's death is being investigated as a homicide. Many valuables were also stolen from his house, but no arrests have been made.

Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper explains how you can help.

"I'm Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper.

This is one of our city's most recent homicides, and we need to find the killer before the case turns cold.

Felix McKinney was found dead Saturday, November 10th inside his house. It's on the 4100 block of 49th Court North in Birmingham.

That day, police were notified that McKinney was bleeding from his head. He had been struck several times. McKinney was dead. He was lying on the floor in the basement of his house. His vehicle and several television sets were taken from his house.

McKinney was last seen alive by a family member the night before.

We need to know what happened to him in his final hours and who's responsible for his death. No matter what you know, you can talk to Crime Stoppers. I promise you: Crime Stoppers keeps you anonymous.

In fact, we'll never take your name. When you call, Crime Stoppers will give you a private code number. And if your tip leads to an arrest, you can use that code number to claim a cash reward. Just dial 205-254-7777, and we'll do the rest.

Someone needs to speak up now. We owe it to McKinney to check every lead and look into every possibility. You owe it to him, too, to point us in the right direction.

With Crime Stoppers, I'm Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper."

TO PROVIDE A TIP ON THE CASE: You can reach Crime Stoppers anytime at (205) 254-7777.

Also, you can text 7777, along with your tip, to the word "CRIMES." Or if you prefer to send an encrypted tip online, go to www.crimestoppersmetroal.com click on the "submit an online tip" link.
