Update:

Homewood Police Chief Jim Roberson says the victims of a Friday morning homicide were thirty-year-old Araceli Juarez-Montero and her two children, ages four and five.

Police arrived at The Abby at Boulder Ridge Apartments around noon after receiving a 911 call from Hugo Juarez, the victim's husband.

"That he had come home from work and found that his wife and two children were deceased," said Roberson.

Roberson stopped short of naming Juarez as a suspect, but says they are not ruling out anything at this time.

"He is in protective custody at this time. There are no suspects who have been ruled out and there are no motives that have been ruled out," he said.

Roberson says police are re-canvassing the area surrounding the crime scene. The clerk at a nearby Texaco gas station tells ABC 33/40 police came in asked for surveillance video from Friday.

A resident  at the apartments says he's concerned security could be an issue. He says the apartment's gate rarely works properly.

"It's been broken several times within a month and a half. If it were and outside person coming in it would've been easy access because it's supposed to be a gated community but it doesn't work," said resident Jason Martin.

Roberson says, as far as he knows, there were instances of domestic disturbance between the couple.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (205) 254-777. Or call the Homewood tip line at (205) 332-6224.

A person called Homewood Police after discovering three dead bodies at an apartment located at 110 Aspen Circle off West Valley Avenue, authorities confirmed to ABC 33/40 reporter Marissa Mitchell. Police declined to release the ages, names and relationship of the victims. However, residents say a woman and two children lived inside the apartment.
