Forestdale, AL -
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has
arrested Curtis Williams in connection with the robbery of a payday loan
business on Forestdale Boulevard December 10.
Williams was taken into custody on outstanding warrants and during the
interview process with detectives he confessed to robbing the payday loan
business.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's
Office, just after 2:00 pm on December 10, two men approached the business on
Forestdale Blvd. An employee buzzed the electronic lock and let them in. Once
inside the pair went behind the counter and took money from the cash drawer.
They then forced the employee to show them the safe and took the money from it
as well. No weapon was presented and no
one was harmed in the robbery. One of
the men was recognized by employees of the business.
Williams is charged with Robbery 1st Degree,
Robbery 2nd Degree and Failure to Appear on an original charge of Unlawful
Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree. He has no bond.
