Tulsa Police responded to separate incidents over the weekend that
left two individuals under arrest for possession of marijuana and
firearms.
The first occurred on Dec. 8 at approximately 11 p.m. There, officers were flagged down by the
security officer at a taco stand near the 6500 block of E. King Street in reference to
3 individuals with a shotgun.
Police were able to apprehend two
of the suspects involved in the incident while the other fled on foot,
according to their release. At the scene, police recovered a Remington
12 gauge shotgun from a nearby trash can.
Rounds for the
shotgun and marijuana also were found on the juvenile suspect. The juvenile
was arrested for possession of firearm by a minor and possession of
marijuana.
At a separate incident on Dec. 9, officers observed a
vehicle just after 2:30 p.m. exceeding the speed limit and cross left of
center while traveling south bound on
N. Lewis Ave.
According to the police report, the officer stopped
the driver near the 2400 block of E. Queen St. During the traffic stop,
the officer could smell the odor of raw marijuana emitting from
the vehicle and a handgun in the backseat behind the driver identified
as Anthony Ramirez, 19.
Ramirez and his passenger were removed from the vehicle and taken into custody.
Police also recovered a second loaded
handgun from under the front passenger seat, in addition to a magazine
with 9mm ammo in the center console. A box of
9mm ammo and .38 special ammo were also found in the trunk of the
vehicle.
Officers also recovered marijuana in various locations in the
vehicle.
Anthony Ramirez was arrested and booked for possession of marijuana with intent
to distribute, two counts of possession of firearm in commission
of a felony, speeding, driving left of center, and three municipal
warrants.
