The lead suspect in the death of Alabaster resident William David Moore has died.  According to a release from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Lamario Brown, a Birmingham resident, died while in custody in Mississippi.

In September, Brown was taken into custody in Jackson, Mississippi after local law enforcement found the victims car.  He was then charged with Receiving Stolen Property first degree by Jackson authorities and a Murder warrant was subsequently obtained by Shelby County Sheriff's investigators charging him with Moore's death.

Brown remained in custody in Mississippi while the extradition process was underway that would have transferred him back to Alabama to face the Murder charge.  The Shelby County Sheriff's Office was notified Wednesday December 5, 2012, that Brown died while in custody in Mississippi.  An autopsy revealed that Brown died from medical complications.

Shelby County Sheriff Chris Curry stated that, "although we will not see this case reach a conclusion through the Court, I am confident that no one else was involved in Mr. Moore's death."
