Update: Commercial fire now under control in Birmingham

The Birmingham Fire Department is fighting a commercial structure fire at 4833 Powell Avenue. ABC 33/40 has a crew on the way and will update you as information becomes available.

Update 3:05pm: Fire and police departments have all surrounding roads blocked at this time.

Update 3:20pm: There have been no reports of injuries from this fire which is now under control. The building that was destroyed is Burton automotive. Motor oil was stored inside the building.
