Earthquake shakes part of North Jefferson County

A 2.5 earthquake was detected in North Jefferson County just after 10:00am.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake hit 9 kilometers west of Kimberly, Alabama.

ABC 33/40 spoke with a resident in Mount Olive, AL who said she felt her roof shake. She said she assumed it was thunder.
